The principal objective of the project is to develop a system for data transmission over high-voltage power distribution lines. Transmission capacities and ranges of the existing systems are not satisfactory. Within the project we are going to explore new ways of using power lines (with the help of advanced modulation and coding methods, as well as coupling of the communication signal to the transmission lines). The novelty and technological contribution consist mainly in application of a new data transmission concept in the structure of high-voltage power distribution lines and their incorporation into Smart Grids. The resulting solution should have significant impact on better stability of the whole power distribution network thanks to the flexible control capabilities.
